Another essential tool is the Formula Auditing tool. This tool allows you to see exactly where the formula comes from (or goes to!). We prefer it to the coloured boxes that appear when you click F2 or click in a cell because:
- It can show you links to other sheets or spreadsheets (and you can go directly there)
- You can just follow the line to the related cell instead of having to look in the formula bar
- You can trawl through cells to find errors
