Create a VALID Excel date with the day, month and year
Once you understand how dates work in Excel, you will see that we need a special function that can be used to combine day, month and year numbers into a valid Excel date.
As shown below we have split up a person’s birthday into the day, month and year (cells C8, C9, C10) because we want to create a bonus payment date of the 25th of their birth month in 2004. You cannot use something like CONCATENATE as the end result will be text which Excel will not see as a date.
