Find references to non numeric cells

When formula refer to other cells, they are generally referring to cells that have numbers in them.

If the cell is referring to a non numeric cell e.g. a word, you would need to check that the formula is looking at the right place. There is also the risk that the cell looks like a number but Excel sees it as a text and treats it as a text e.g. you add up 10 cells and one of them says 50 but Excel thinks it is text. Excel will add the other 9 cells and ignore the 50 and you will be none the wiser.
