Grouping Text in a Pivot Table

It is also possible to group text items within a field. This is useful when you want to group together a number of items but don’t have the time or access to the data source to create a brand new field.

The key lessons from this video are:

  • Using the CTRL key you need to click on all the items you want to group
  • You can change the name of the group by typing directly into the Pivot table
  • This new field is then available for your Pivot Reports
